Coles at Macarthur Square creates 85 local jobs
Coles will create 85 new jobs at Macarthur Square next week when it opens its bigger and better supermarket on the top floor of the extended shopping centre..

Previously located on the shopping centre’s ground level, Coles’ new and enhanced supermarket on the top floor will provide shoppers with a fresh market-style experience including an open meat counter with qualified butchers, a continental delicatessen offering a variety of local and international cheeses and a new range of organic and Halal meats,
An in-store bakery will also provide customers with flat bread baked daily and ‘naked bread’ which customers can pick and wrap themselves.
The 85 new recruits will include 25 Coles Online team members and will join X team members who are transferring from the existing store.
To celebrate the opening of the new supermarket next Thursday, 9 March, Coles will hold a a celebratory ribbon cutting and host an array of family fun activities including a sausage sizzle, face painting and balloon sculting
All proceeds from the opening day activities will go towards supporting Macarthur Family and Youth Services.
Celebrations will continue into the weekend with a special appearance from Chef and My Kitchen Rules Judge, Pete Evans and ex-My Kitchen Rules contestant, Adam Law. The duo will be joined by ex-Masterchef contestant, Courtney Roulston. The duo will be performing live cooking demonstrations using Coles fresh produce from Thursday, 9 March to Sunday, 12 March.
Coles at Macarthur Store Manager, Jess Cheshire, said the team was excited to open the new store and enhance customers’ shopping experience at Coles.
“We currently have a team that has decades of experience at Coles. We even have eight team members who each have over 25 years of service with the supermarket. This opens up opportunities for our 85 new team members to learn from those who know the business and the local community inside and out. It also allows us to continue a premium level of service for our customers. This is certainly something to be celebrated,” she said.
