New Store at Lakelands creates more than 100 jobs
The new store is part of an investment by Coles of more than $120 million in Western Australia over 18 months, creating more than 1200 construction jobs and around 850 retail jobs.

Coles will create more than 100 local jobs when it officially opens its doors to a new market-style supermarket at Lakelands on Wednesday, 21 June.
Located in the new Lakelands Shopping Centre, shoppers at Coles Lakelands will be able to enjoy an extensive fresh produce section and an in-store bakery complete with a large range of artisan breads, cakes and pastries.
The new supermarket will also feature a continental delicatessen with an olive bar, open-style butchery, and a scoop-and-weigh station with a wide range of seeds, nuts, grains and dried fruits. Local residents will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of clothing and accessories as Mix will bring fashion to the grocery aiseles.
Store Manager John Bell said the development will create new jobs and offer the local community with an enhanced shopping experience.
“The team is very excited to open the doors with over 100 new Coles team members, we are all very eager,” he said.
“We believe the new look store will appeal to Lakelands residents and become a shopping destination. Local residents will be pleased to know the store is easily accessible with a brand new carpark right out the front to make it more convenient for shoppers.”
The extensive range of food will also include locally-sourced products from Western Australian suppliers including Harvey Beef, British Sausage Company, Simmo’s Ice Cream, Harvey Citrus, Berry Sweet and many more.
Local residents are invited to celebrate the opening at the Coles Family Fun Day from 11am on Saturday, 24 June. Held in front of the supermarket within Lakelands Shopping Centre, there will be fun activities and entertainment, including free face painting, games and giveaways. WA’s popular chef duo, Anna and Jordan Bruno, will also demonstrate some of their favourite recipes and be joined by Perth Glory star, Liam Reddy.
Coles Lakelands is located inside Lakelands Shopping Centre – Lakelands Shopping Centre, 49 Banksiadale Gate, Lakelands WA 6180 and will be open seven days a week.
