UnionPay now accepted at Coles Group stores

Coles values the diversity of its customers and is excited to announce a new partnership with UnionPay.
This will offer Coles customers the choice to pay with UnionPay in-store at any Coles supermarket, Coles Express, Liquorland, Vintage Cellars and First Choice Liquor Market.
UnionPay is the world’s largest card scheme company. It is the most popular payment choice for international visitors, students and international residents in Australia, with over 8.4 billion cards issued around the world. There are billions of UnionPay transactions in Australia every year and a growing demand for UnionPay contactless payments.
Coles Chief Executive Officer Emerging Businesses, George Saoud, said introducing UnionPay would provide another payment choice for Coles’ international customers.
“Coles is always looking for ways to make life easier for customers across all backgrounds to pay with their preferred method using their card or mobile,” he said.
“UnionPay offers convenient and secure contactless payment at any of our 2,400 stores, which is now more important than ever. Having a UnionPay option will not only be incredibly important when travel resumes, but also for those international residents who use UnionPay in their day to day life while in Australia.”
UnionPay International South Pacific Region General manager James Yang said the partnership with Coles Group would make it easier and more convenient for UnionPay Cardholders’ daily life
